Competence 9

The course, Corporate Finance, was very instructive. Dr. Kontour explored a range of corporate models. From this course, we learned how to construct Pro Forma Financial Statements and to calculate Cash Burn and Cash Conversion Cycle. With this data, we can examine and predict the financial viability of a corporation like Northeastern Conference Corporation. This information can be used by the administration to help pastors set realistic tithe goals for their congregations. It can serve to inform the finance and executive committees in budgeting for the corporation.

I used some of the strategies from this course to realize one of the goals of our Conference President, Daniel Honore. He was impressed by the services we received at LaCarlota’s Sana. He wanted a Wellness Center for our Conference. I worked closely with the Health Department to strategize the planning. My department (Development) raised over US $40,000 to start the Center. We cut the ribbon on July 8, 2018 to open the first of its kind in Northeastern Conference.

I sit on the Board of Directors for Victory Wellness Center.
