I learned effective fiscal management in the course on Strategic Planning taught by Dr. Pilgrim. The SWOT analysis of Northeastern Conference revealed church building deficiencies as a weakness. The building summit is a strategic move to alleviate that problem and make it into a strength.
Northeastern Conference disburses over a million US dollars every year to settle litigations regarding risk management related issues and building violations. My department and the Building Department of the Conference have teamed up to host the first building symposium in Northeastern Conference on April 14, 2019. There will be presentations on: Mission driven construction; construction oversight and accountability; funding and risk management.
The main objective of this building summit is to educate pastors and members on the intricacies and complexities of building construction and maintenance, with a view to saving the millions of unnecessary gifting to the legal system
